In commemoration of the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, the National Local Immigration Partnership Secretariat invites you to the next installment of the NLS Anti-Racism Professional Day series:
Join us on September 26th from 1:00-4:00pm ET (12:00-3:00pmCT, 10:00am-1::00pmPT) for “Moving Beyond Words: What You Can do to Advance TRC work". This dynamic and interactive session will equip participants with essential knowledge about Truth and Reconciliation and transformative best practices that go beyond mere words, inspiring you to become a more conscious and active Treaty Person and ally.
Participants will be encouraged to explore ways to put their insights into action by engaging in thought-provoking discussions and activities centered on region-specific newcomer guides, current Indigenous-led movements and organizing, and LIP-led activities demonstrating best practices.
This session was planned in critical consultation with a group of Newcomer Council Members and in collaboration with the National LIP Secretariat Anti-Racism Working Group. The event will provide simultaneous French interpretation.

Note: We strive to host inclusive, accessible PD sessions to allow all individuals to fully engage. If you need accommodations, please contact Marycarmen at [email protected]

This virtual space is designed to help us connect across the land that we are currently calling Canada. Our members are standing on different parts of this land that many Indigenous peoples have been taking care of for millennia before settlers arrived. We acknowledge the injustices that have been committed in the past and the harms that continue. We are committed to learning, sharing knowledge, and working towards a just future through building respectful relationships between established or recent settlers and the first nations of what we now call Canada.
