The London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership (LMLIP) invites you to attend a new webinar on Experiences of Discrimination in London & Middlesex County.

This free webinar will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 2-3:30 p.m. Dr. Victoria Esses and Ph.D. candidate Rama Eloulabi of Western University will be presenting an in-depth look at the discrimination experienced by immigrants and racialized individuals in London and Middlesex, as well as strategies and recommendations for combating discrimination.

In partnership with the London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership, interviews were conducted with 30 immigrant and racialized community members who had experienced discrimination in a public place or at the workplace within the last three years. The interviews detailed the respondents' experiences, their sense of belonging to the region, their knowledge of existing strategies and supports, and characteristics of a reporting tool and other supports that they may find useful.

This virtual space is designed to help us connect across the land that we are currently calling Canada. Our members are standing on different parts of this land that many Indigenous peoples have been taking care of for millennia before settlers arrived. We acknowledge the injustices that have been committed in the past and the harms that continue. We are committed to learning, sharing knowledge, and working towards a just future through building respectful relationships between established or recent settlers and the first nations of what we now call Canada.
